(CNS) — Detectives today were seeking information about two sisters accused of running an illegal cosmetic fillers business in Sylmar, five days after one of their patients died.

Los Angeles police are also seeking information about other possible victims. One of their patients died July 23, according to police.

Guadalupe Viveros, 53, and Alejandra Viveros, 50, were taken into custody in the 13100 block of Mira Mar Drive on June 21, according to the LosAngeles Police Department.

They were accused of practicing medicine without a license and held for a time on $20,000 bail, according to police.

An investigation was launched after alleged victims complained of becoming ill as a result of being injected with the fillers, usually in the face or buttocks, according to police investigators.

In some cases, the fillers hardened into solid plastic and the patients developed infections, according to police, who believe the suspects had a longlist of clientele in the area.

Guadalupe Viveros claimed to be a physician in Mexico, but is not allowed to practice medicine in the United States, while Alejandro obtained the clientele for her sister, detectives from the LAPD's Foothill Division Predator Apprehension Detail allege.

Alleged victims are urged to contact the detectives at (818) 834-3115.
