PACOIMA (CNS) – A man was in custody Monday, Feb 2, on suspicion of fatally stabbing a 47-year-old woman whose body was found near the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Station in Pacoima.

Officers were sent about 7:10 p.m. last Wednesday to the intersection of Osborne Street and San Fernando Road on a report of a possible homicide and found Maria Ontiveros of Pacoima.

Paramedics pronounced Ontiveros dead at the scene. She had suffered a stab wound to her upper body, police said.

On Thursday about 10:20 p.m., police arrested Armando Bichara, 24, in the 2700 block of East First Street, and he was booked on suspicion of murder, the LAPD reported.

Bichara was being held on $1 million bail, according to the sheriff’s department.
