WEST HILLS (CNS) – Police released security video of a man carjacking a vehicle from a woman at a gas station in West Hills in hopes that someone will recognize the suspect and tell investigators where to find him.
The crime occurred about 8 a.m. Saturday in the 22700 block of Vanowen Street. The suspect was described as black, 25-35 years old, about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing 200-230 pounds, with curly hair and a short beard.
The woman told officers that the man approached her as she was pumping gas, and he threatened her with a knife.
“The suspect then pulled the gas nozzle from the vehicle, threw it on the ground, (and) drove the victim’s car northbound on Fallbrook Avenue,” according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement.
The stolen car is a gray, four-door 2000 Toyota Camry, license number 4KBA401.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Topanga Station detectives at (818) 756-4820, or (877) LAPD-247.
