VALENCIA (CNS) – Authorities released the name of a 3-year-old boy who drowned in a residential swimming pool in Valencia and detectives determined no criminal negligence was involved.
Aydenn Navarrette died at a hospital after being taken from a home near Grandview Drive and Woodfield Place around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 6, according to coroner’s and sheriff’s officials.
Detectives learned that the child was left under the care of family members ranging in age from 14 to 19. The child apparently went outside in an effort to get a ball out of the swimming pool. Instead the child fell in.
The family members later found the child in the pool, unresponsive. They pulled the child out and called the sheriff’s department and performed CPR before deputies arrived.
When deputies and paramedics arrived, a plan was coordinated to block off streets and allow paramedics to rush the child to a hospital. However, the child was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
