FBI agents descended up the Mauran Ambulance Service, Inc., in San Fernando on Tuesday, May 12. The company was served with a search warrant, and an estimated 20 investigators could be seen collecting and boxing up files and paperwork.
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that the agency was “involved in an investigation in the Valley,” but said the affidavit was “under seal” and did not disclose what the bureau was searching for. “It’s very early in the investigation,” Eimiller said, adding there was “no timetable” for when the FBI would release more information about the search.
San Fernando Police Chief Anthony Vairo said The FBI conducted a search warrant for health care fraud. “The FBI is handling the investigation and they only provide limited information,” Vairo said.
Vairo said the city hasn’t had any negative interaction with the company, located on 1st street. He said The original owners Donald and Anne Mauran sold the company about fifteen years ago.
