SUN VALLEY (CNS) – Authorities identified a motorcyclist killed in a collision in Sun Valley, as well as the other driver, and asked anyone who witnessed the Memorial Day crash to come forward.
The collision happened at Glenoaks Boulevard and Nettleton Street at 10:13 p.m. Monday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
Hovik Mkrtchian, 24, of Palmdale died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
Sun Valley resident Mukhtar Choudhary, 51, who was driving a 2006 Hummer H2, was uninjured and remained at the scene to speak to investigators, police said.
The 2006 Honda RS motorcycle was being driven south on Glenoaks Boulevard when it collided with the right front corner of the Hummer as Choudhary was turning left from northbound Glenoaks Boulevard onto westbound Nettleton Street, police said.
There was no evidence of impairment of either driver, according to the LAPD.
