LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Three men and a woman suspected of involvement in a home invasion and residential burglaries were in custody on June 10, authorities said.
The suspects, all from Los Angeles, were arrested at various locations in April and May, Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Bill Schierman said.
One of the suspects, 29-year-old Rodrick Brumfield, barricaded himself in the attic of his girlfriend’s residence in the 43000 block of Park Avenue in Lancaster on May 15, Schierman said. Brumfield, a parolee, was armed with two handguns and was eventually taken out of the attic by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s SWAT deputies.
Brumfield, Michael Bishop, 24, and Joy Williams, 27, were originally sought for a home invasion and attempted robbery of an 80-year-old couple in
Camarillo on March 31, Schierman said.
The trio, and Oussama Mimouni, 28, were tied by investigators to two dozen residential robberies and burglaries in California and Nevada, Schierman said.
Mimouni was arrested by Los Angeles police officers April 23. Williams and Bishop were arrested May 6, Schierman said.
Bishop, who was on post-release community supervision, was subsequently re-arrested for robbery and attempted forcible copulation while in custody at the Ventura County Main Jail, Schierman said.
Brumfield’s bail was set at $1 million, Schierman said. Both Mimouni and Williams have million-dollar warrants for their arrest in Ventura County.
Bishop’s bail has been set at $1,540,000.
