NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) — A 62-year-old Los Angeles man who allegedly had a loaded gun in his car outside a North Hollywood business just hours before Vice President Joe Biden visited the company was arrested.

Larry Ira Estrin was detained about 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, near Bobrick Washroom Equipment, 6901 Tujunga Ave., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said Estrin was stopped at a checkpoint outside the business, which was under heavy security due to Biden’s afternoon visit, when police were alerted —  apparently by a police dog — about a possible gun in the vehicle.

Police searched the vehicle and found a loaded weapon inside.

Eastern was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded weapon, with bail set at $35,000, police said.

Some media reports from the scene indicated that Estrin was a photographer who had been hired to take pictures during the Biden event.
