Mexican Independence Day the 16th of September or Dieciseis de Septiembre. was celebrated at Los Angeles City Hall. Five other countries, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, celebrate their independence on September 15. This celebration also marks the beginning of Latino Heritage Month with a series of events held throughout the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles.
