SUN VALLEY (CNS) — Authorities have identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash that authorities said involved a suspected drunken driver, who was arrested.
The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Haddon Avenue and Sheldon Street, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
Gary Ewing, 28, of Los Angeles died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Jose Mejia, 57, of Van Nuys, was booked on suspicion of second-degree murder, according to the LAPD.
Mejia was driving a 1991 Toyota Corolla station wagon when he made a left turn from southbound Haddon Avenue to eastbound Sheldon Street, and it was struck by a Kia Optima and a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle, Eisenman said.
