PACOIMA (CNS) — A teenager was shot and killed in Pacoima in a gang-related slaying, police said.

The shooting was reported at Van Nuys Boulevard and Norris Avenue at 2:20 a.m. on Oct. 26, said Officer Norma Eisenman of Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations unit.

“Two suspects walked up and shot the victim,” Eisenman said. “The incident is gang-related.”

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was later identified as Willie Barios. His attackers were men between 18 and 25, the police said.

The area was sealed off as investigators canvassed for witnesses and searched for surveillance video, Eisenman said.

One investigator at the scene said the victim was shot in the head, and a shell casing from a semi-automatic handgun was found at the scene.

The crime scene was near Pacoima Charter Elementary School.
