There is no altar or memorial of any kind at San Fernando Road and Hubbard Street, the location where a man was shot and killed Monday, Jan 11, in an officer involved shooting.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting by San Fernando police of a man who according to police, reversed his vehicle into a squad car and then fled the scene, colliding with another car and then crashed into a signal pole.
San Fernando Police Chief Anthony Vairo told the San Fernando Valley Sun/El Sol that the man was not a local resident. The absence of any article at the scene of such a major incident is unusual in a city where altars are often erected at the scene of tragedies, which is causing many to wonder more about the background of the man whose life ended in this small community. The question that many are asking is, “Who was this man and what caused him to act erratically?”
The incident began about noon Monday near the intersection of San Fernando Road and Hubbard Avenue, according to Sheriff’s Deputy Lisa Jansen.
