VAN NUYS (CNS) — Authorities have identified a man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting after he allegedly attacked four people at a Van Nuys apartment building.

The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, in the 6900 block of Kester Avenue. Rammy Jaradat, 26, of Los Angeles died at a hospital, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Jaradat allegedly stabbed a man, bit two other people, and attacked a third person in the apartment building. No officers were hurt, police said.

Jaradat was shot when he tried to attack an officer sent to the scene on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The suspect did not live at the location, police said.
