SYLMAR (CNS) – A man was found dead today near railroad tracks in the Sylmar area, resulting in an interruption of Metrolink service while an investigation was conducted.

The body was discovered about 8:30 a.m. near San Fernando Road and Sierra Highway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man’s name and cause of death were not immediately known. There were no reports of trains hitting anyone in the area, according to Ramon Montenegro of the Sheriff’s Transit Policing Division.

Service on the Antelope Valley Line was interrupted until shortly before 11 a.m., when the track was reopened, according to Metrolink.
