SACRAMENTO — Assemblywoman Patty López (D-San Fernando) has been appointed to the California State Assembly’s Committee on Labor and Employment.
The Committee’s primary areas of jurisdiction include wages, hours, employment discrimination, Cal-OSHA, employment development and public job programs.
As a member of the Legislative Women’s Caucus, and now the only female appointee to the Labor and Employment Committee, López hopes to bring the issues that matter most to California’s working families to the forefront of discussion.
“Like so many other women who are dealing with the pressures of a demanding job while also raising children, I have always been a staunch advocate of equal pay and job opportunities for women, access to affordable childcare and the creation of family-friendly workplaces,” she said.
“I look forward to serving and representing their needs — to championing the rights of all workers throughout my district and across our state in order to help build a stronger California.”
