TARZANA (CNS) – Los Angeles police detectives served a search warrant at singer Chris Brown’s Tarzana home today, Aug. 30, as they investigated a woman’s claim that he pointed a gun at her.

As of early afternoon, no arrests had been made, according to Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Chris Ramirez.

Police responded at 3:15 a.m. to the home in the 5000 block of Corbin Avenue in response to a call from a woman “requesting help.” Because of high-profile nature of the case, the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division was called in to handle the investigation.

Ramirez said earlier that investigators were trying to make contact with the R&B singer, and by early afternoon, police had obtained a search warrant.

Around 1 p.m., police served the warrant, and people inside the home were being brought into a front courtyard, where they were searched by waiting officers.

“Once all the occupants are removed from the residence, they will be interviewed by RHD detectives to try to ascertain (from) their statements … what occurred early this morning,” Ramirez said.

“Until everybody is interviewed — witnesses, all potential people that were in that residence — until they are interviewed … we cannot provide you with any more information on what actually occurred …,” Ramirez said.

Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, was at the home when officers began serving the warrant. It was not immediately clear if police had yet spoken with Brown.

Ramirez declined to provide any specifics about the nature of the phone call that brought police to the home. The website TMZ.com reported earlier that several people were at Brown’s home last night but when uninvited guests arrived, Brown allegedly threatened a woman with a gun, prompting her to flee the home and call police.

With police surrounding his home this morning, Brown took to social media to deny any wrongdoing and blast the police for swarming his house over what he called a trumped-up allegation.

“When you get the warrant, whatever you need, you gonna walk right up in here, and you gonna see nothing, you idiots,” he said. “I’m tired of (expletive) dealing with you all. Y’all the worst gang in the world, the police.”

He contended he was asleep and awoke to the sound of the police and media outside.

“So I’m asleep half the damn night, I just wake up, all these

(expletive) helicopter choppers is around,” he said. “There are police out there at the gate. … What the (expletive) else do you want from me, bro? I stay out of the way. Take care of my daughter. Do work. … At the same time, when I call the police for stalker people that are endangering my life, they don’t come til the next day. Let somebody make a (expletive) allegation about me, oh yeah, the whole (expletive) SWAT team.”

Brown also mocked the media coverage of the situation, saying all it was doing was giving him publicity. He lashed out at the characterization that he was “barricaded” in his house.

“Have you seen my house? I’m gonna barricade myself in a palace,” he said sarcastically.

“What I do care about is y’all are defacing my name as a person and my character and my integrity,” he said. “I am a father. I am one of the best entertainers out here — without bragging and trying to say, `Woe is me, I’m not getting enough credit.”’

By mid-morning, TMZ reported that Brown had thrown a duffel bag out of a window, and police retrieved at least one gun, some other weapons and drugs.

Ramirez said he could not confirm that report.

A model named Baylee Curran told TMZ she was the one who called police, saying she was at Brown’s home last night with a friend. She said she saw an associate of Brown displaying a piece of jewelry, and when she began admiring it, Brown pointed a gun at her and ordered her out of the home. Curran also claimed that Brown’s associates tried to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement before she left, but she refused.

Brown, 27, has had a number of run-ins with law enforcement, most prominently his 2009 domestic abuse of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

A week ago, he sought to invalidate a summons served by a process server involving a lawsuit filed by a life coach hired to help rehabilitate the entertainer’s image.

Mike G sued the singer on June 23 in Los Angeles Superior Court for allegedly beating him up on May 10, just days before Brown was to leave for a European tour.

The plaintiff maintains he thought he was having a routine talk with Brown about the tour, but alleges Brown instead took him into a room and punched him four times in the face and neck.

While he had to go to the hospital to be treated, Brown showed no remorse and boasted to others about the attack, the suit alleges.

A hearing is scheduled Nov. 29 before Judge Elizabeth Allen White.
