LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The county coroner’s office has identified a man who was fatally shot in Sylmar.

He was Alan Castor, 23, with no listed residence, according to the coroner’s office.

The shooting was reported Sept. 7 about 1:40 a.m., near the intersection of Dronfield Avenue and Sayre Street, Los Angeles police Sgt. James Bender said. Castor was struck in his upper body and taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds, according to Bender and the coroner’s office.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, and a suspect description was not available, police said.
