Bette Mae Delaney

Bette Mae Delaney, 73, Nov.12,1942 – Sept,18,2016, of Anderson, Ca. Died on Sept. 18 at her home. Bette was born in San Fernando, Ca.

Bette is survived by her loving husband, David D. Delaney, Sr.  Bette is the great granddaughter of Antonio Maria Ortega,  the granddaughter of Vera & Manuel Salazar and the daughter of Teresa & Abel Salazar.  Sister of Abel, Alan & Duane Salazar. Mother to Brian & Jenn Delaney, David Delaney Jr., Carolynn Ann & Barry Scott. Grandmother to Joshua, Jared, Makhayla, Angelina, Kaitlyn & Jessie. In addition to all of the wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles.

She had the most loving family ever, she believed she was truly blessed.

Bette is a strong and proud Native woman. She was active in her Fernandeno Tataviam & Chumash communities all of her life. The Wintu tribe in Redding treated Bette like one of their own, honoring her with a ceremony Oct. 9, 2016. Her family and friends in her home land will honor her Nov. 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Oakbrook Chumash Museum in Thousand Oaks, Ca.
