The Las Colibri all-female Mariachi group is one of the many scheduled performers at this year’s 57th annual L.A. Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 24, in the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
The three-hour event, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., is free and open to the public and the audience can come and go throughout the show.
Cheryl Burke (“Dancing with the Stars”) and Brian White (“Scandal,” “Mistresses,” “Chicago Fire”) co-host this year’s show, which features more than 20 music ensembles, choirs and dance companies from the many neighborhoods and cultures of the region celebrate the season during this free three-hour holiday show.
Others scheduled to appear include the Valley-based Latin jazz band Cuba LA, playing holiday songs from the Christmas CD “Navidad Cubana” under the direction of two-time Grammy Award-winning flautist Danilo Lozano of Van Nuys; MUSYCA Children’s Choir of Northridge, bringing together gifted young people, ages four to 18, to create a community of singers built on respect, love for music and artistic excellence; and QVLN (Q-Violin) of North Hollywood bringing his “Brazil meets Jimi Hendrix on an electric violin” stylings to perform an upbeat Latin fusion of the Christmas classic “Little Drummer Boy” (North Hollywood).
Both admission and parking are free, and the doors to the pavilion open at 2:30 p.m. Seating is first come, first served.
