PACOIMA (CNS) – Authorities have identified a 16-year-old boy who was fatally shot when the pickup truck in which he was riding came under fire in a possible gang-related attack in Pacoima.
Jessie Rios was gunned down on Saturday, Dec. 17, on Eustace Street near Dronfield Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Rios later died at a hospital.
According to police, the Ford F-150 was being driven westbound on Eustace Street when it was “fired upon by gunshots from unknown suspects.”
The driver realized the victim had been shot and drove to the 11900 block of Sproule Avenue, and then called 911, police said.
The suspect vehicle was described as a Nissan Altima, and the shooting is possibly gang related, police said. No arrests were reported.
