Ismael Ruiz and Mario Israel Aviles, both 19, books on suspicion of robbery. They were scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, April 3 in the San Fernando courthouse. Each man remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail.
On March 29, San Fernando police arrested two men on suspicion of home invasion in the 1000 block of Hollister Street. A 9-1-1 call at 7:45 a.m. had alerted the department of a possible home invasion robbery attempt. Officers were informed that two men, one armed with a gun, had entered a home and were planning to rob two residents there.
“They entered the home and held a mother and her son, we are still determining what property may have been taken,” SFPD Chief Tony Vairo said.
The suspects did not obtain any property and fled the area on foot, police said.
According to SFPD, the responding officers located the suspects at a residence located in the 700 block of Mott Street and established a perimeter with the assistance of Los Angeles School Police and the LAPD Airship. After several minutes and repeated announcements to exit the residence, both suspects exited and were arrested without further incident.
