Thirty-nine 7th and 8th grade Explorer Scouts from Northridge Middle School got hands on experience utilizing state of the art medical instruments, viewing sonography and x-rays, seeing an actual ultrasound of a real baby, taking a blood pressure, learning how to ace bandage a sprain and learning about organ identification. Doctors and nurses from Dignity Health Northridge Hospital, and the Dignity Health Medical Group /Northridge Family Medicine Residency Program, were there to provide education and guidance. Northridge Middle School will become a new Medical/Healthcare Magnet school in the 2018 – 2019 school year.
