LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Authorities hope a $50,000 reward would help solve the death of a woman whose body was found in the Tujunga Canyon wash near Sunland nearly two years ago.

The body of 34-year-old Julia Moniz of La Crescenta was found about 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2015, near Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Oro Vista Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

“Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide,” LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said. The cause of death was not announced, and other details were not released.

The reward was offered by the Los Angeles City Council for information leading to the identity, arrest and prosecution of the killer or killers.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Foothill Division detectives at (818) 834-3115, or (877) LAPD- 24-7.
