SYLMAR (CNS) — A fire that may have been intentionally or carelessly set burned around five acres of brush here on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The blaze was reported just before 3 p.m. near the 12800 block of Maclay Street, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, but one person was taken into custody by police investigating the cause of the fire, which burned between five and eight acres, she said.

Nearly 100 firefighters, including units from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles National Forest, responded to the blaze. Crews battled the flames on the ground and from the air and knocked down the fire by 4:27 p.m., Stewart said.
