The Los Angeles County Grand Park Foundation invites residents living in the San Fernando Valley and Greater LA to attend its Pop Up Community Meeting with special guest and Instagram Star Jay Mendoza on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Grand Park’s Block 3 – Court of Flags and Gardens, 200 N. Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles.
The meeting is to share information and to receive feedback from residents about the county’s newest urban park and green space.
The meeting includes participatory and engaging activities for the whole family to provide input on programming for Grand Park. The first 55 guests to arrive will receive a free Grand Park Rangers’ collector’s pin. There will be free giveaways at the community meeting site for everyone.
“To continue the progress towards making Grand Park the ‘Park for Everyone,’ this open interactive gathering encourages the public’s participation about Grand Park’s programming, and constitutes official input from the community as part of the Grand Park Foundation’s agreement with the County of Los Angeles. Community input will help the Foundation shape our funding direction and initiatives for Grand Park,” said Grand Park Foundation President Michael Woo.
“Grand Park was built to serve all Los Angeles County residents, and we would like to hear from a cross section of people from across the County’s communities,” Woo said.
Guests are also invited to experience Grand Park, which is beautifully decorated for the holidays and to enjoy the gardens and the “Cuba: Antes Ahora / Cuba: Then, Now: Rumba Dance Party + Jam Session on Block 2-Performance Lawn from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
For transportation, residents are encouraged to Go Metro to Grand Park: Red or Purple Lines to Civic Center/Grand Park Station on Hill St. There are also multiple bus lines serving the area, as well as Metro Bike Share www.metro.net, (323) 466-3876.
