The annual lighting of the city Christmas tree drew families and residents to the downtown streets of San Fernando on Tuesday, Dec. 12. The crowd was treated to more than three hours of music, dancers and performers, as well as the opportunity to purchase hot food and cold drinks. Children were equally entertained by a jumper house, face painting and free books. And, of course, a visit from Santa Claus, who took pictures and passed out chocolate chip cookies.
The event had been originally scheduled for Dec. 7, but was postponed because of the wildfires in Sylmar.
