The Watoto Children’s Choir, a group of 18 orphans from Uganda, will continue its six-month USA tour with a performance at the Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church in Pacoima on Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. The performance, titled “Signs and Wonders,” is free and open to the public.
Since 1994, the Watoto Children’s Choir has toured the world annually to raise awareness for the 18 million African children currently orphaned by AIDS. Each child in the choir has suffered the loss of one or both of their parents and now live in Watoto village with other children who face the same challenges.
“This will be the second time the Watoto Children’s Choir will be hosted by Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church,” pastor Dr. Dudley Chatman said. “We wanted to end the year with a bang since we are celebrating our church’s 75th Anniversary. These kids put on a show that is out of this world. Be a blessing to them as they will be a blessing to you.”
Those interested in attending are encouraged call (818) 579-0180 and RSVP. The church is located at 11066 Norris Avenue in Pacoima.
