VAN NUYS (CNS) – A Los Angeles man accused of committing lewd acts on two girls at Universal Studios Hollywood on New Year’s Day has pleaded not guilty.

Hershel Louis Korngut, 34, is charged with two felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child, one felony count of possession of child or youth pornography and one misdemeanor count each of indecent exposure and sexual battery, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Korngut allegedly rubbed himself against two girls — ages 12 and 14 — at the amusement park on Jan. 1. Korngut, who works as an audiologist, also allegedly exposed himself to a woman at nearby Universal CityWalk the same day and was arrested when he returned later that week, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The misdemeanor sexual battery count involves a fourth female whose age is unclear, according to Ricardo Santiago of the District Attorney’s Office.

Detectives serving a search warrant at Korngut’s home recovered alleged evidence of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s department.

Korngut was freed on bond the day after he was arrested, jail records show.

He is due back in a Van Nuys courtroom May 25, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.

If convicted as charged, Korngut could face up to 18 years in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
