LAUSD, SOSC to Host School Games

The Los Angeles Unified School District and Special Olympics Southern California have partnered to host the Los Angeles Unified School games for elementary and middle school youths with intellectual disabilities and special needs. The regional track-and-field events, which began on Wednesday, March 13 at Huntington Park High Schools, will be held at Chaminade High School on March 29, and the Cesar Chavez Learning Academies on April 3. The events are the culmination of a six-week track and field training program the participants have already gone through, which provides opportunities to learn through sports competition and develop all aspects of total fitness needed to compete in any sport.
