“SISTER ACT, The Musical,” currently playing at CASA 0101 in Boyle Heights is well worth the drive from the valley. It’s a shining example of showcasing true diversity with a cast and crew that gives their heart on stage.
“SISTER ACT” celebrates “women, power and sisterhood,” said CASA 0101 Founder Josephina Lopez, “with a predominantly female cast and females in production positions as Musical Director, Choreographer, Costumer Designer and Set and Projections Designer.” Director Rigo Tejeda, seated in the audience is a positive motivator whose laughter, affirmations and applause spreads the joy. “Our divine cast will raise the roof nightly and keep toes tapping as audiences witness nightclub singer, Deloris Van Cartier’s adventurous antics in her newfound home, a nunnery.”
CASA 0101 is a lovely theater with a supportive environment that every community deserves to have that provides a venue for new voices and talent. This production of “SISTER ACT” is fun and a happy gift for the community.
