LOS ANGELES (CNS) — A 24-year-old man is set to surrender Friday, June 14, to begin serving a 180-day jail term stemming from the discovery of a fully loaded semi-automatic firearm found inside his vehicle following a confrontation in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in West Hills, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has announced.
Julian Womack was also ordered to serve three years on probation; stay 150 yards away from the unnamed man involved in the confrontation and the Chik-fil-A restaurant parking lot where the defendant was arrested; and not to own, possess or purchase any firearms or ammunition as a result of his no contest plea to a misdemeanor count of possession of a loaded firearm, the City Attorney’s Office reported.
Womack pulled into the restaurant’s parking lot on May 1, nearly striking the other man’s vehicle and causing both drivers to swerve, according to city prosecutors. Womack then allegedly approached the other motorist and threatened to beat up the man and “put a thousand shots if you come near my car.”
The victim and his passenger went inside the restaurant to get away from the defendant and the store manager called the police. When they arrived,. according to the City Attorney’s office, the officers detained the defendant and subsequently found a .40 caliber Glock, semi-automatic pistol, under the driver’s seat of his vehicle. The weapon had a 13 round capacity magazine, loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition, and one bullet in the chamber.
