PALMDALE (CNS) — Deputies with The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department station in Antelope Valley continue to investigate the head-on collision between a big rig and another vehicle that killed three men.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The collision occurred on Tuesday, July 23,  at about 7 a.m. on Pearblossom Highway between 60th and 70th streets East. Two men died at the scene, and the third died at a hospital, the sheriff’s department reported.

The man driving the big rig was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation, the big rig was northbound on Pearblossom Highway when the other vehicle, which was southbound, “veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in the collision,” sheriff’s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.

“Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor,” Navarro-Suarez said.
