NORTH HILLS (CNS) — A man who was fatally shot in the North Hills area has been identified, but his killer remains at large.
Paramedics sent to Chase Street and Orion Avenue about 7 p.m. on Oct. 18 pronounced 23-year-old Jose Lopez dead at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department. His home town was unknown.
“Witnesses had transported the victim from another location in an attempt to drive (him) to a local hospital, and had stopped to render immediate aid,” according to a police statement.
Detectives are unsure of a motive for the crime.
“It could be a drug deal gone bad; it could be … gang-related,” LAPD Lt. Mike Kozak said.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at (818) 374-9550, or (877) LAPD-247.
