VAN NUYS (CNS) — A man fatally shot outside a Van Nuys strip club has been publicly identified.
Jonathan McLinn, 30, was a Sherman Oaks resident, coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz said.
The shooting occurred about 2:45 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, near the Red Tie Gentlemen’s Club at 15832 Stagg St., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to police and reports from the scene, the victim argued with a man who was accompanied by two other men who were in a dark car. During the argument, the suspect shot the victim and then got into the car, which sped off.
Another fatal shooting occurred outside the club nearly a year ago. On Feb. 25, 2019, at about 2:10 a.m., Jorge Soto, 34, of Northridge was fatally shot during a dispute with several suspects who fled in a vehicle.

Friday’s strip club shooting was the second shooting in Van Nuys in three days. Someone fatally shot a 35-year-old transient in Lake Balboa/Anthony C. Beilenson Park in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area about 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 28. He was identified as Bryan Woodson. Witnesses said Woodson and his killer argued before the shooting.
