Baby Ella Cruz, born on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Dignity Health – Northridge Hospital Medical Center, is wearing a special, handmade red hat donated to raise awareness around cardiovascular disease during American Heart Health Awareness Month, as a part of the American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts program.
Volunteers for the American Heart Association are celebrating American Heart Month by knitting red hats for babies born during Heart Month in February at participating hospitals. “We’re raising awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of Americans, and congenital heart defects, the most common type of birth defect in the country”.
