Ed. note: The COVID-19 pandemic was a game-changer and a game-ender for many City Section and Southern Section prep athletes. Football and girls volleyball, which are played in the fall, were among the few team and individual sports that did have complete seasons. Others, like basketball, saw the seasons interrupted by the pandemic; some, like baseball and track-and-field, never had a season at all.
