Davon Pledger

City Councilmember Monica Rodriguez has proposed that a $50,000 reward be authorized for information that helps solve the killing of a 26-year-old man in Pacoima.

LAPD detectives have been investigating the killing of Davon Pledger, 26, that occurred on May 9 and has also sought the public’s helping in trying to identify and arrest the suspects.

Valley Bureau Homicide investigators said Pledger, of Van Nuys, was standing in front of a home in the 13200 block of Cornelius Street at 10:45 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan drove up and a passenger and the driver jumped out. The duo fired several shots, got into the sedan and drove away in an unknown direction.

Officers arrived to find Pledger on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds and not breathing. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The reward motion will be considered next week by the full Los Angeles City Council.
