VAN NUYS (CNS) — One home was torched at a Van Nuys apartment building, but firefighters managed to stop the flames from damaging any of the other units, authorities said.
The fire at the two-story garden-style complex in the 14400 block of West Vose Street began at 2 a.m. on Aug. 2, according to Margaret Stewart with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“That’s crazy,” said Citizen user jrxp, looking at a thick plume of dark smoke rising in the background, while filming a Los Angeles Fire Department truck arriving on the scene. A bright orange glow could be seen through the branches of a large tree.
In total, 39 firefighters helped extinguished the fire. It took just18 minutes to achieve knockdown.
No injuries were reported
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
