Weekly Update of Valley Area COVID-19 Cases

Health Department officials have listed the latest number of confirmed novel COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles county at 288,451 (as of Oct. 18).

State health officials have confirmed 43,464 cases of COVID-19.

According to other state data, Latinos are the largest ethnic group affected with 12,465 cases, followed by whites (7,885), Asians (3,508) and African Americans (1,871).

The largest affected age group was 18-49 with 13,653 cases.

All the above state figures were as of April 26. 

Also as of April 26, more than 553,409 tests have been conducted in California and reported to the California Department of Public Health.
