Kenneth Earl Gay was twice convicted and sentenced to death for the killing of an LAPD officer in 1983, but in February of this year the California Supreme Court overturned his conviction finding that he did not receive competent counsel therefore denying him his constitutional right to competent representation during his trial. Today his pretrial is being held at the San Fernando Courthouse.
