Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division have identified the 85-year-old victim of a fatal hit-and-run collision on Dec. 27.
A department spokesmen said Ida Feller was walking west on Lankershim Boulevard at around 5:40 p.m.in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by an unknown suspect, driving a newer model black four-door sedan that was traveling east on Moorpark Street.
According to investigators, the suspect driver made a right turn on to north Lankershim Boulevard, struck Feller, and continued north on Lankershim Boulevard. The driver failed to stop and render aid as required by law.
Police continue to seek the public’s assistance in providing information about the accident, in particular with identifying the vehicle’s license plate number. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to those whose information leads to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
