LOS ANGELES (CNS) — A celebration of life was held Monday, Jan.19, at Dodger Stadium for former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, who died Jan. 7 at age 93.
A casket containing Lasorda’s body was placed on the pitching mound. Pastor John Werhas, who played 40 games for the Dodgers from 1964-67, was among those offering prayers.
Former Dodgers Eric Karros and Mickey Hatcher were among the speakers and served as pallbearers along with former Dodgers Bobby Valentine, Charlie Hough and Mike Scioscia and former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Fratello.
A grave-side memorial service followed the celebration of life.
