The champion of the Valley Mission League will be crowned on Friday, Oct. 29. And it’s appropriate that the last two undefeated teams in league play, Canoga Park High and Reseda Charter High, will determine the titleholder.
The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., at Canoga Park High School.
After a rocky start to the 2021 fall season — unable to play its first two scheduled games because of COVID-19 protocols, then losing the first two games it actually played — Reseda (6-2, 5-0) has more than righted the ship by winning six straight, including last week’s 34-0 nonleague thumping of Hawkins High of Los Angeles.
Canoga Park (5-3, 5-0) didn’t look that impressive in its nonleague schedule. But the Hunters are currently on their own five-game winning streak, and have hammered their fellow Valley Mission opponents by a cumulative score of 189-20. Last week they beat Van Nuys 42-0, their third shutout in league play.
