The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County will host its first-ever Queer Family Day on Saturday, June 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The day’s events include:
— Rainbow Scavenger Hunt, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (while supplies last). Explore the museum through the colors of the rainbow;
— Liberation Coffee Biscotti Treats, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (while supplies last);
— Museum Collections: Beyond Gender, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. View collection items from NHM’s Anthropology Department, normally kept behind the scenes! Explore items from third gender communities around the world including the Muxe of Mexico, the Fa’afafine and Fa’afatama of Samoa, and the Mapuche Machi of Chile;
— Drag Queen Story Time, 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Join Pickle and Lil Miss Hot Mess from Drag Queer Story Hour as they capture the imagination, and tell stories of self-love and appreciation of others. For children of all ages, and;
— Dino Dance Party, 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Come do the Hustle with Dakota, the Triceratops and Hunter, the T. Rex, and celebrate the joy of Queer Family Day.
The museum welcomes guests to wear their favorite shade of green to show off their nature-loving pride.
The museum is located at 900 W. Exposition Blvd., in Los Angeles.
The Dino Dance Party has limited capacity. Visit the welcome table at Dueling Dinos to get your ticket to the Dino Dance Party. Tickets will be released one hour before each show (10:30 am and 12:30 p.m.) and are first-come, first-served.
