The man arrested last Friday by San Fernando Police for following and threatening people along the San Fernando Mall with a pickaxe has been identified.

Daniel Mendoza, a 32-year-old Hispanic male, has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon. The San Fernando Police Department has presented the charge to the district attorney’s office and are awaiting to hear if they will file.

If charged and convicted, Mendoza faces up to four years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Mendoza was arrested on Oct. 21 around 5 p.m. on the San Fernando Mall near South Maclay Avenue. He reportedly was following and threatening people with a pickaxe.
