Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival in Pacoima

Featuring World Renowned Mariachi Los Camperos and Mega 96.3’s Omar y Argelia

PACOIMA, CA—Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez will host her annual Dia de los Muertos Festival (Day of the Dead)—a free event in Pacoima at Pacoima City Hall, 13520 Van Nuys Blvd., this Saturday, Oct. 29, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Dia de los Muertos is a celebration observed in Mexico and throughout Latin America that honors the lives of ancestors and loved ones who have passed away.

The street festival will feature community altars, local vendors, community resource booths, a Catrina contest, a full day of live music, and food trucks. Altars have been decorated by local nonprofits, neighborhood leaders, and Council District 7 residents. 

The entertainment lineup features the world-renowned mariachi group, Mariachi Los Camperos. This year’s Catrina Contest will also feature Mega 96.3’s Omar y Argelia, who will kick off the contest with Councilwoman Rodriguez.

* DJ Les Ortiz will be at the celebration from 12 – 7 PM, providing music between performances.
