In order to qualify to be placed on the ballot, a candidate must collect and submit at least 500 signatures from registered voters in the District, which must then be verified by the Los Angeles City Clerk’s Office. Santana was the first to announce his run to represent Council District 6, and also the first candidate to officially qualify.

“I’d like to once again thank those who have supported my campaign for City Council by placing me on the ballot with their signatures,” said Santana. “As I’ve said before, the Valley has a special place in my heart as it’s always been my home. However, in recent years it feels as if we’ve been forgotten at City Hall – I’m running to change that and to be part of the solution in addressing our city’s largest challenges.”
