CicLAvia has announced its 2023 schedule of car-free open streets events, including the addition of the CicLAmini.
In addition to the 5-7 miles of CicLAvia’s traditional open streets events, CicLAminis — compact neighborhood routes in new locations around Los Angeles — are designed to inspire participants to slow down and enjoy the streets in a more leisurely fashion.
A CicLAmini is a more pedestrian-oriented experience featuring activities sprinkled along the entire 1–2-mile open street event. Expected events will include self-guided walking tours, scavenger hunts, street games, local business engagements, and art and cultural activities for all-ages.

The CicLAvia 2023 schedule is as follows:
— Feb. 10: Los Angeles Ale Works hosts CicLAvia season launch party and fundraiser with debut of “seek-la-VEE-ah,” a signature West Coast India Pale Ale, at Ivy Station Complex, Culver City, during the 5-10 p.m. Night Market;
— Feb. 26: The Valley (5 miles), Sherman Way Between Canoga Park & Reseda, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.;
— April 15: Mid-City Meets Pico Union presented by Metro;
— May 21: CicLAmini – Watts presented by Metro;
— June 18: South LA – Vermont Ave presented by Metro;
— Aug. 20: Koreatown Meets Hollywood presented by Metro;
— Sept. 17: CicLAmini – North Hollywood;
— Oct. 15: Heart of LA presented by Metro; and,
— Dec. 3: South LA – Leimert Park Meets Historic South Central presented by Metro.
“One of my favorite things to do in Los Angeles is ride my bike,” said Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. “CicLAvia events bring that joy safely to all parts of our city by showing us how safe, manageable and bright our streets can be without cars — not just for bicyclists, but for walkers, runners, skaters and scooters, CicLAvias are a wonderful way to celebrate our great city of Los Angeles while engaging in an activity that’s healthy for people and the planet.”
CicLAvia–The Valley, taking place on Sunday, Feb. 26, is an opportunity to explore the neighborhoods of Canoga Park, Winnetka and Reseda along Sherman Way. Show up anywhere along the route at any time. Hubs have restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking and first aid. In addition, free pedicab rides are available at each information booth. CicLAvia-The Valley will have three hubs along Sherman Way in Canoga Park, Winnetka and Reseda.
“We hope people will join all eight events this year and enjoy the car-free streets in a multitude of people-powered ways,” said CicLAvia Executive Director Romel Pascual. “A bike or wheels are never necessary to participate. But if you are on a bike, skateboard, rollerblades or roller skates, always wear a helmet. It’s California law for anyone aged 18 and under.”
