   This Ordinance was duly introduced for first reading at the City Council meeting of January 17, 2023, and was presented for a second reading and adopted by the City Council at the meeting of February 6, 2023.  The provisions of the Ordinance is approving amendments to the San Fernando Municipal Code to add Chapter 78, Article II, Division 6 “Urban Lot Split” and to add Section 359 of Chapter 106, Article III, Division 2 “Two-Unit Urban Residential Development” to establish regulations and standards for urban lot splits and two-unit residential development projects in single-family residential (R-1) zone pursuant to Senate Bill 9.

   This Ordinance shall go into full force and effect at 12:01 a.m. on the thirty-first (31st) day after its passage.  Copies of this Ordinance are available through the City Clerk’s office for examination and purchase by the general public.

that a Public Hearing will be held by the City Council of the City of San Fernando to receive comments from private nonprofit agencies regarding the City’s intent to apply for a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program funds.  The City will apply to purchase replacement vehicles for the Fixed-Route Transit Service that provides transportation services to City residents 65 years and older and persons with disabilities. Transit service operates Monday – Friday 10AM to 4PM and Saturday/Sunday 11AM – 4PM, and cost per trip/person is $0.25.

  A public hearing is required to allow private nonprofit agencies to demonstrate whether they are readily available to provide fixed-route transit services. “Readily Available” is defined as “interested, willing, and capable of providing the proposed service at a comparable cost to the identified clientele, in the same service area, with the same hours of frequency, and the same level of service.” If nonprofit agencies cannot carry out the proposed service, the public agency becomes eligible to apply for funding.    Copies of the staff report will be available for public review after 12:00 noon on Friday, March 17, 2023, on the City’s website https://ci.san-fernando.ca.us/  and at the City Clerk’s Office, 117 Macneil Street, San Fernando, CA 91340.  Questions may be referred to Management Analyst, Kenneth Jones at kjones@sfcity.org.
