NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) – A private security guard told police he was attacked in a robbery attempt in North Hollywood by suspects armed with paintball guns loaded with marbles.
Officers went to Whitsett Avenue and Sherman Way at about 10:30 p.m. Monday on a report of an attempted robbery, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
According to police, four suspects fled in a gray four-door Toyota and were being sought.
The security guard told reporters he was sitting in his personal vehicle while wearing body armor when a group of men pulled up alongside him and demanded money before opening fire on him.
The man, who was working as an ATM guard, drove to a nearby gas station for help following the shooting. He apparently was not seriously injured.
